Grimoire Christmas party 2011

I had planned on putting this blog up Christmas eve, but due to my blog having an internal error I couldn’t…:-(

Anyway, rather than rambling on about the shoot too much, I just want to say I had a really good time covering the Grimoire Xmas party 2011 for Tokyofashion.com. Normally I don’t pull all nighters for work, but I’ve covered a Grimoire party before and all the people there are so nice and friendly I really didn’t want to pass up the chance to shoot this. My assignment was to photograph as many interesting people as possible, showing their fashion, full body, crops and details when possible. All 250+ photos from my assignment can be found here at Tokyofashion.com, but here are some of my favourites from a Dolly Kei Christmas party in Tokyo, almost all of which were shot with my 5DmkII and 24-70mm lens with an 580EX speedlite used off camera via my ST-E2 transmitter. A slightly belated Merry Xmas from me too:

Must have been quite an interesting and fascinating Christmas party. Can only image what they do for a New Years Eve party. Fabulous photos as always Will. Looks like you are still working hard and not winding down for your move back to Scotland. Wishing you and your family a great New Year!

How very fun–I can totally see why you made every effort to shoot this again Will. Fantastic shots–you definitely managed to nab all the quirkiness of this party. I’m envious! Best wishes for 2012!
