Happy New Year everyone.
2009, like most of the last decade, just seemed to fly in. It doesn’t seem long ago I was seeing in 2009, in the blink of an eye 2010 is already here.
I think the last 6 months I haven’t really taken any photos for the hell of it. I’ve just been shooting for work, not complaining about that at all, but I had been missing just wandering around on my own, having some ideas about what I wanted to shoot and invariably winding up doing something else. Today was like that, I decided to go and photograph what was going on in a few temples around Tokyo, I went to Yasukuni shrine and Zojoji temple, both were really mobbed, just the usual New Year festivities, got some nice shots, but my favourite of the day was an unexpected one. I ended up having a wander around in the vicinity of Zojoji trying to find a good spot to frame Tokyo Tower and the temple together, got some semi decent stuff but then found myself outside the Hamamatsucho World Trade Center and took myself up to the observation platform for a good view of town as the sun went down. Tokyo tower had “2010″ plastered all over it which gives it a limited stock shelf life, but I did like the view as the sun was going down. It was my first time to go there, I quite liked the view, wouldn’t mind finding some other good high places for some city scape shots this year as well. Always nice to find something new.

Hey Cristina,
The shot was taken from inside the World Trade Center in Hammamatsucho. Get a really good view from there.
