I’ve been blogging for a few months now and I mostly keep it about work, or some photos I take that I really like, but I’ve got to thinking that I should use everything I have at my disposal and do some mobile blogs from my phone about some of the more random stuff I come across in my daily life when I don’t have my camera with me. I alwas have my iPhone with me, the quality of shot isn’t great, but for random posts it will do the job.
To start off this new feature we will use the category “random Japanese nonsense” and include as the very first shot, a picture I took of a train advertisement this morning for a ferret orchestra, yes you did read properly, a ferret orchestra that is part of a “cute bear, poodle and ferret circus.” I think it’s a sign that I have been here way too long (coming up for 9 yeas) when I see this kind of thing and it no longer seems as strange as it used to. Japan really does go overboard with what it perceives as being cute in relation to animals, the training required to teach animals “cute tricks” is conveniently passed over and we’re dealt the final product which results in the most of the locals screaming “kawaaaaaaaiiiiiiikk” (cute) at the sight of any creature doing anything human like. Disney culture gone wrong on so many levels.
