Whisky galore

The write up for the whisky piece I shot a couple of weeks ago was in The Japan Times yesterday. The paper was just B&W, but the internet version here looks really good in colour. It also shows off the lush bar we went to in the campus of Tokyo University. A fine place to spend an evening.

As always, Nick’s writing is brilliant. You always brings a great wealth of knowledge as well as a lot of humour to his articles. Always a pleasure to work with him.

I sure do like the colour version also. For the simple reason, in the colour version I can see different colours of Whisky. Forgive me my ignorance but One thing I didn’t really understand is why whisky server in wine glass. I thought whisky has different types of glass. May be the article explains it but I could not read the article completely.

    Thanks for the comments everyone.

Ajay, the glasses used for whisky tasting may look a bit like wine classes, but they are actually a bit smaller and narrower than a white wine glass. They have the stalk at the base like a wine glass so you can hold the drink to the drink to the light and examine the colour (just like with wine) and the narrower glass condenses the smells in a bit more to make nosing the whisky easier.
