A few months ago I blogged about the Japanese traditional tattoo artist Horimyo and the other week I blogged about my love of medium format film. Recently the editor of the Australian tattoo, art, culture and lifestyle magazine, Post Modern Ink, Stephen Farrelly came to Japan to meet the elusive Horimyo and I provided some photos for their spread, using medium format images I had taken in his studio over a few sessions. Well, one of the images (the close up of the needle on skin) was digital, but the other images were 6×7 images taken with my Mamiya and they look so sharp on each of the 2 page spreads.
I haven’t seen the print editions yet, but the pdf files look cracking. I’ve had a few spreads of Horimyo’s work over the years, but this one just looks really good. Very happy with the results.
