Hong Kong

I’ve been away for a little while, a change of scene from humid sticky Tokyo for a much more humid and stickier Hong Kong. I’ve been there once before about 3 years ago and it rained everyday, this time the weather was a lot better and I really enjoyed wandering round again, this time with my girlfriend.

I like Hong Kong. It’s on a much smaller scale than Tokyo in terms of size, it’s really simple to navigate round, plenty to see for a few days and the people were damn nice as well. I didn’t have anyone refuse my requests for photos, people generally smiled and chatted away, food was excellent and it’s a bit cheaper than Tokyo which always helps.

A lot of cities in Asia are similar, but as always it’s the little differences that got me. I took far too many pictures of trams, high rise buildings, cityscapes and bamboo scaffolding. I have a lot of images to get through and edit, I’ll add some up as I go along. Her I’ve added some from the first day, just generic travel pics, people going about their lives, workers in a backstreet market, people riding the trams, some of the cityscapes and the random objects I found on my wanderings.

Man they are good shots, i love the lead one, generic travel shot you said…okay have it your way but I still think it is prtetty wow! Landscapes are hard and cityscapes harder still to do well, I love the long exposure on that one with the movement in the clouds and the saturation in the lights. Great.

I couldn’t agree more…that long exposure looking up at the skyline shot – absolutely beautiful. You will have to show me how you take shots like that Will…

Thanks Lloyd, one night in Tokyo where there is some good cloud movement we should go out and get some shots. All you need is a tripod.
