When I do work for the Japan Times I usually work with some writers, mainly Nick Coldicott in the Liquid culture section and Paul McInnes in the arts and fashion section. Both guys are excellent writers as well as being damn nice guys. When I work with Nick, I have to visit a variety of bars. Sometimes we go together, sometimes he just goes as a customer and then I will contact the bar and go later to take the snaps. Most of the bars I have to photograph for him involve a shot of a specific drink. After taking photo of said drink, there is only 2 places for the drink to go; 1. down the sink, which is a waste and a moral outrage, or; 2. down my throat. I am very environmentally friendly and I hate to see things go to waste, so usually I go for option 2 if it’s available. I am always polite and semi try to turn down the offers of free drinks, but then accept before there is any chance of it being flung out. Perks of the job as it were.
Anyway, here’s the web link to a recent piece by Nick. He’s a really talented writer, he works for a lot of clients and most importantly he knows a hell of a lot about booze and knows where to drink and where to avoid. If you like having nights out in Tokyo and want to find somewhere a bit different to drink in, it’s the best column to keep up with.http://search.japantimes.co.jp/cgi-bin/fg20090724nc.html

Hi Will !
Thanks a lot for your comment on my diary , I´ve been having a look at your pictures here and in your other page and you have some really nice work.
I think we share a taste for photographing people.
Keep up the good work !
Lovely pictorial depiction – Monotone roar better somehow:)
I’m certain you attain job satisfaction seeing the spread comes to fruition – Enjoy those drinks, life is good!
Oh those pics are yours! I liked them when I read the article, and unusually for me didn`t check the photographer. Really i do that most of the time if I like the pics. I guess you`re right about him being a talented writer; he certainly kept me engrossed. Nice shots though, hope to see more of your in those pages soon.
